DANIEL EVANS ACO
Camera Operator · Steadicam Owner Operator
Dan has over 12 years experience working in the Camera Department. He began his career with an apprenticeship at rental house Filmscape Media in 2010, specialising in high-end digital cameras and he went on to run the kit room floor.
In 2012 Dan began working as a freelance Camera Assistant, working on major feature films and TV dramas including Skyfall, Red 2 and Downton Abbey.
In 2017 Dan operated B camera on all 26 episodes of Sky's The Athena, and then in 2019 he trained in Steadicam at Optical Support, London. In 2020 he purchased his own rig, and is now an owner operator with his own Archer2 rig. He is also experienced in most operating practices, including remote and geared heads, and a variety of camera stabilisation systems.
In July 2020 Dan started a company with his wife, called Our House Pictures. In 2023 he became a full member of the Association of Camera Operators (ACO) and is now represented by the agency Sara Putt Associates.
Dan is a proud advocate for equality and diversity within the camera department, and works with BECTU to help achieve this. Recently he started Kit Start, a work experience program to help people from working class backgrounds get a foot on the ladder at camera rental houses - the very same way it all began for him.
